Microsoft confirmed this this week after several annoyances that gradually accumulated until the joint announcement with Xbox Game Pass subscribers on Friday. The game will be available for the first time on an Xbox Game Pass subscription for PC on August 23, so if you’re a subscriber to Xbox Game Pass for PC and have stopped playing just yet, your chance to try it out is on Tuesday.

This makes sense given the state of the deployment, but Microsoft seems to have expected that people would still have questions. These questions will soon be answered, it seems, in one of the FAQ posts.
