DICE to reveal plans for Battlefield 2042 for Season 2 next week

the official Twitter Battlefield 2042 has revealed that an upcoming developer update will be broadcast on August 22, in which the team behind the game will discuss plans for the game’s second season.

You can watch this live stream next Monday at 11am ET / 3pm UTC / 5pm CEST via this link. according to Leaks On Twitter, we might take a first look at the next specialist, who appears to be a support specialist.

Battlefield 2042 players eventually received Season 1 content back in June 2022. Despite the introduction of a new specialist, a new map, and a number of quality of life improvements, Season 1 content was disappointing for fans after waiting for more than six months.

However, DICE is committed to making Battlefield 2042 the same Sandbox experience that veteran fans of the series have come to expect from a Battlefield title. It is not yet clear what new content will be included in the new season, but we can at least expect a new map and another specialist to join the game.

Moreover, the developers have already confirmed that they are bringing a revamp with the launch of the second season, to continue to tweak the maps with more combat feelings and better positioning of the sector. It is not yet clear if more maps will be reworked in the future, or if the renewal is the last.

The remastered version of Kaleidoscope launched a few weeks ago as part of the mid-season content for Season 1. With these changes, DICE is trying to improve the core game while adding more new content to give players a reason to come back to playing it.

With the launch of Season 1 in June 2022, the concurrent number of Battlefield 2042 players on Steam reached over 10,000 in the months after launch, but it didn’t take long for the game to be dropped by players and back to under 5,000 again.

Sure, Battlefield 2042 fans need something more than just maps and specialists to stick with the game for a longer period of time, but it remains unknown whether or not DICE will offer anything unusual for Season 2.

Recently, it was rumored that EA had already asked DICE to begin work on the next Battlefield title, as the massive drop in players has disappointed the publisher about the future of Battlefield 2042.
