It was recently revealed who will play the adult versions of Lottie and Van in the popular Showtime series yellow jacketsNow, the network has confirmed the presence of another new member of the cast the Lord of the Rings Triple star Elijah Wood starring in the Emmy-nominated series. Wood’s casting marks the second season’s first new addition and an all-new character, with Showtime announcing he will play Walter, who has been described as a “dedicated citizen detective who will challenge Misty (Christina Ricci) in ways you wouldn’t expect….” Production for the second season begins this month in Vancouver.
Wood joins a cast known for their female lead, including Emmy-nominated and Critics’ Choice Award winner Melanie Lynskey. (castle rocks) Juliette Lewis, Academy Award and Emmy nominee (campingEmmy nominee Christina Ricci (Z: The beginning of it all) and yellow cypress (never forget). Other newcomers for season two include Lauren Ambrose (six feet under, butler) and Simon Kessel (Obi-Wan Kenobi), who join the series for regular roles. Wood’s part in season two will be a long guest arc.
With production not starting until this month, fans will unfortunately have to wait until next year before knowing what happens next in the series. twistingShowrunner and co-creator Ashley Lyle confirmed that a premiere in early 2023 seemed the most likely for the series.
“We’re looking forward to the first quarter of 2023,” Lyle told Trade. “We are on a very similar production path in terms of time as we were last season, although of course we have to shoot an extra episode because we already shot the pilot last time. I think we will finish filming around February and we will start broadcasting Sometime shortly after that…no one wanted to get back on stream any faster than we did. But we went straight from finishing season one to season two. It’s a very sequential storyline, and we wanted to make sure we didn’t rush it, that we got it right. Right. And so that was the first thing we could achieve.”

It was previously reported that the series’ creators have a five-year plan for the show, which means we’re only 20% of the way through the story.
