In terms of what might be revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live, there is one potential candidate.

Geoff Keighley – who hosts Opening Night Live – is a close friend of Hideo Kojima and has a long history of collaborating with mastermind MGS to break news about his upcoming projects.

Death Stranding made a big splash at the Game Awards events in Keighley, and it was recently revealed that Kojima is working on a new game.

During the big Xbox and Bethesda Game Show this year, Kojima-san revealed that he’s working on a new game for Microsoft.

This game is believed to be called Overdose and is a survival horror starring Margaret Qualley – who starred in the Netflix show Maid, The Nice Guys and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Qualley also starred as Mama in Death Stranding, and given the close working relationship between Kojima and Keighley, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Overdose appear at Gamescom Opening Night Live.

And Kojima-san would have given an intense hint that an overdose trailer was on the horizon.

Visionary MGS, Snatcher, and Policenauts recently took to Twitter to show that he was working on a new trailer.

Alongside a photo from his workspace, Kojima posted: “Tentatively finished editing for now.”
