Earlier today, WWE shook up the Women’s Tag Team Championship by revealing that Zoe Stark and Nikita Lyons won’t be in the tournament anymore. Instead, they were replaced by NXT’s Toxic Attraction team of Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin, and NXT fans were definitely excited to see the group debut on the blue brand. That enthusiasm continued in the match itself, and the Toxic Attraction impressed a lot of people with their match against Natalya and Sonya Deville. Social media was buzzing with post-match reactions, fans were thrilled about their debut, group leader and current NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose was, and you can see some of them. The duo are expected to be making the jump to Raw or SmackDown for a while now, and this seems like the perfect way to introduce them to a new audience before this final debut. Toxic Attraction has held the NXT Women’s Championship twice now, and while Rose still holds the NXT Women’s Championship, it looks like all three will be heading to Raw or SmackDown sooner rather than later.
Now Jayne and Dolin will face Raquel Rodriguez and Alia next week’s SmackDown match in the second round of the tournament, while Alexa Bliss, Asuka will face Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky on Monday Night next week. We may end up with Toxic reaching the finals, which will take place at Clash at the Castle.
Who knows, maybe we’ll see them take on a returning ex-champion duo? We just have to wait and see.
