The Batman Arkham subreddit created a fake game called Batman: Arkham World because there hasn’t been a new entry in years. The Batman Arkham series is one of the most beloved video game franchises out there, widely credited as one of the first to truly capture the feeling of being a superhero. While there have been other superhero games before the Arkham franchise, none have had an established franchise that has also bypassed the stigma of being part of a licensed IP. Unfortunately, Rocksteady wrapped up the Arkham trilogy in 2015 with Batman: Arkham Knight And there’s no new Batman game on the horizon, much to the chagrin of fans. The world of Arkham will continue with the return of Rocksteady Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguewhich may see Batman return, but nothing has been confirmed.
However, the lack of a new Batman game after 7 years has caused some fans to feel a little crazy. The Batman Arkham subreddit has started imagining a new game called Batman: Arkham World. This has led to fans creating ridiculous plots with characters who don’t even exist in the Batman universe, taking pictures for fake award rosters and more. The joke went so far, that fans even created memes about how people deny Batman: Arkham World They even exist, creating a false reality around them. While it’s not the most unusual thing to come out of Reddit, it is certainly one of the funniest. The gag has been around for weeks and shows no sign of stopping, at least not until a new Batman game drops.

Batman: Arkham World It is technically a game that Rocksteady raised at one point. At the 2011 VGAs, Joker gave an “acceptance speech” for the Best Character Award. In it, the Joker uploaded a script for a game called Batman: Arkham World. This was probably nothing more than a way to tease Rocksteady that she would make another game in the series before she actually planned anything, but now, it’s a real thing.
