British bookmakers agree, with Ladbrokes telling Express online today: “The punters are torn between Cavill and Elba as things stand, and while the latter has repeatedly excluded himself from the race, punters apparently think he can connect to the 007 bosses scam.”
Ladbrokes has Cavill at 2/1, followed by Elba at 7/2, Page at 9/2 and Hardy at 5/1.
Elba himself repeatedly began to distance himself from the role, saying that he wanted to focus on DJ and other film projects, but another report actually revealed his close relationship to the future of the franchise.
