The missing legendary pilot of Sailor Moon has been found

That’s right, a hard-working YouTube reporter has somehow revealed the legendary missing pilot of the movie Saban and the ToonMakers he produced sailor moon A previously lost series over all these years! It was one of the most notable lost media projects among anime fans sailor moon The project that attempted to “Americanize” the original Naoko Takeuchi series for a new audience. This was a live-action hybrid that completely revamped the original series for new audiences. Unlike DiC’s first English dubbed version of the franchise, this was a complete turnaround for what we got at the end. But it did not go beyond the experimental stage.

Although a pilot was produced for this all-new series, it has been lost to time because the only real way fans in the current era have seen it was camera recording of test footage during a conference decades ago. This left a lot of questions about the project unanswered even Ray Mona on YouTube (real name Raven Simon) revealed the missing pilot during months of digging into those closely associated with production. You can check out the beta along with the work unearthed below from Ray Mona’s YouTube channel, it’s the second part of a much bigger documentary that fans definitely need to check out to get the full picture from:

As part of Raven Simone’s Tales of the Lost series, where you dive deep and search for lost media projects (which previously watched the reporter find a scrapped file I mean girls Nintendo DS game), the two-part documentary of the missing pilot “Saban Moon” watched it connect and haunt nearly everyone involved in the pilot’s production. Not only is the full pilot itself discovered with the music video for the series’ theme in the collections of the Library of Congress, but the dig itself is more interesting than the missing footage.

Developed by ToonMakers sailor moon The project would have been a huge detour from the original series with entirely new character names, an arsenal, and a new live-action environment that would have Sailor Scouts balance their school lives with their lives as heroes. Should Check out the full documentary (with Part 1 starting here) for a full summary of how Simon discovered this long-lost project.
