Texas A&M University graduate Sam Bennett, perhaps the best novice golfer in the United States, is a member of the Aggies’ men’s golf team.

After a tough battle in the quarterfinals, he won the most memorable game against Arkansas in the last opener of the SEC Championship. This victory allowed him to play for the title.
After a solid performance in his sophomore year (2019-2020), Sam earned PING All-America and second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors. These awards came for his sophomore year exhibition. Despite being injured in two fall events and unable to compete, he finished the year with four top-20 finishes.
Sam even led his group in normal scoring with a 71.17, scoring 70 or more in eight rounds. It was a tie for third place. It was his best work at the John A. Consumes Intercollegiate. Also, he placed 6th at the San Diego Classic, where he was named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
