Bonus episode includes Sandman Cameos by Audible Cast

Netflix’s fans hypnotic I was surprised last week when the broadcast channel dropped an additional special Friday, in which the episode recreated two stand-alone stories from the original The Sandman comic book series, the animated ‘Dream of a Thousand Cats’ from The Sandman #18 and a live episode adapted from the movie ‘Calliope’. The Sandman #17. But there was another surprise within – some of the voice actors in “A Dream of a Thousand Cats” feature actors from Audible’s The Sandman as well.

On Twitter, creator Neil Gaiman shared an image outlining the voice cast of “A Dream of a Thousand Cats” which included Tom Sturridge, star of the Netflix adaptation, but James McAvoy, David Tennant, and Michael Sheen as well. You can check out Gaiman’s tweet below.

Gaiman also revealed that while the bonus episode came as a surprise to viewers, it was something that had been planned very early on and that producer David S. Goyer was the one who initially suggested it.

“It was David Goyer’s suggestion. But we adopted it immediately,” Gaiman said. EW. “We were about to air the show on streaming platforms, and the decision was made that we were going to do 11 episodes. We’re going to do 10 episodes and then there’s going to be 11 special episodes that no one will know about. That’s what everyone knew they were buying. It also means that we can start the process of these stories in Too early.”
