On Monday, HBO Max did another purge, this time canceling six more animated projects including Batman: Caped Crusader. The animated series, which was given a serialized arrangement by Broadcasting Device and Cartoon Network 15 months ago, is set to be a spiritual successor of sorts. Batman: The Animated Series Coming from JJ Abrams and Bruce Timm And while the news of the series’ cancellation prior to its airing was shocking to fans, it turned out to be a surprise to the participants as well. On Twitter, Diedrich Bader commented on ComicBook.comCovering the story it wasn’t just him in the series, but that’s how he was finding out.

Sadly, Badr’s experience in terms of social media discovery doesn’t seem to be insulated when it comes to what some are beginning to refer to as HBO Max animation purges. infinity train Creator Owen Dennis recently opened up on social media also about how shocked they were at the show being removed from HBO Max, revealing that several other creators were also completely shocked.
“I had no idea he was coming, nor any other show maker I spoke to, nor any of their reps,” Dennis shared. “People have been working behind the scenes for days trying to figure out what’s going on.”

It was reported that the six projects that HBO Max canceled on Monday will continue in production as they will be marketed in other outlets. if Batman: Caped Crusader Not being picked up by another port, the series will mark Timm’s long-awaited return to the Batman animation on TV after leading an Emmy Award winning Batman: The Animated Series. In addition to Timm and Abrams, Matt Reeves and Ed Brubaker also serve as executive producers on the project previously described as “utilizing the latest animation and technology available, Batman: Caped Crusader Once again, he will reinvent Batman and his iconic rogue exhibit with cutting-edge storytelling, accurate characters, and intense action sequences, all in a visually stunning world.”
“We are very excited to be working together to bring this character back, and tell exciting new stories in Gotham City,” Tim, Abrams, and Reeves said in a statement when the series was announced. “The series will be exciting, cinematic, and reminding of Batman’s dark roots, while delving into the psyche of these iconic characters. We can’t wait to share this new world.”
