Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Fire officials said the home that was badly damaged by the intense fire in southeast Houston is the same home as last week’s shooting.

Houston firefighters said no one was around when they got home at Building 4700 on Wilmington Avenue near Coffee Street just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

A passerby reportedly saw the flames and called 911. No one was inside the house during the fire, the HFD said.

It is unclear whether the house was vacant or if it was uninhabited at the time. Officials said the facilities were still connected.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by HFD Arson.

A man was found with two bullets in the same house just before 3:30 a.m. Friday.

Authorities said the victim was taken to hospital and is expected to be fine.

The victim told police that he was inside the house when someone outside started shooting. He was wounded once in the arm and once in the back.

Police have not released any information about the suspect in the shooting.
