Liverpool suffered, on Monday evening, their first defeat of the new season at the hands of Manchester United at Old Trafford. It wasn’t the results they were hoping for and I’m sure Klopp will be looking for ways to improve his squad despite the injury crisis.

Liverpool’s next game is against Bournemouth on Saturday and I’m sure they will be excited to put Monday’s defeat behind them with a win.

On the other hand, Klopp will be concerned that he will lose six key players in this game.

Here are the Liverpool players who will miss Saturday’s match against Bournemouth;

* Thiago Alcantara

The midfielder sustained a hamstring injury in the second half of Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Fulham earlier this season. Klopp says the injury is serious and will keep him off the field for four to six weeks.

*Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

During pre-season, the 29-year-old sustained a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace. According to reports, he is still recovering and will not return until October.

* Darwin Nunez

Nunez received a direct red card during his first home appearance against Crystal Palace after headbutting Joachim Andersen. He did not play against Manchester United and remains suspended for Liverpool’s next two matches.

* Ibrahima Konate

The Liverpool defender was injured during the Reds’ last pre-season match against Strasbourg. However, he has started light training but will be out for another two weeks.

* Curtis Jones

Jones is nearing a full recovery from his calf injury. It is not expected to be available until next month.

* Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota’s hamstring injury forced him to miss Liverpool’s first three matches. On the other hand, Klopp revealed that the Portuguese striker is close to making a comeback. However, he will not be available for the weekend’s match.

Here are the two Liverpool stars who could return from injury to face Bournemouth;

*Joel Matip

The defender sustained a thigh injury against Fulham on the first day of the season and was ruled out of the match against Manchester United. However, he has resumed light training and his choice against Bournemouth could be considered.

* Caiomhin Kelleher

Klopp predicted at the start of the season that Kelleher’s injury would keep him out for two to three weeks. He is expected to be available for selection against Bournemouth on Saturday.

What can you say about Liverpool’s injury list?
