Android Auto Error: Affected Phones
Unfortunately, the affected phones do not seem to have a common denominator. Users from multiple regions, who drive different cars and use different Android phones, have been affected. Even at least one user with an Android phone and iPhone commented that Apple CarPlay was running on their car with the Android Auto bug – much to the frustration of them.
However, it certainly seems that some popular phones are affected. The new trademark Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the major Galaxy S22 Ultra Among the different Samsung phones affected. so it was Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G and miscellaneous OnePlus phonesalthough none of it was new OnePlus 10 Pro. even a couple Google Pixel 6 And the Pixel 6 Pro Users reported problems.
I personally have an S22 Ultra and haven’t had any issues, but if I did I would be sure to provide an update.
Is there any solution for this Android Auto bug?
While Google doesn’t have an official solution at the moment, there was a workaround that was recently suggested by a user at Support Forum (Opens in a new tab). They suggest removing the app, cleaning the data, and reinstalling a clean version of the app. This will also require you Reconnect and re-pair your device by car.
We can’t verify that this solution works, so please proceed with caution if you decide to try it out. However, it is currently the best solution available until Google offers something concrete.
The best advice at the moment is not to update to Android Auto 7.8.6 when your phone is connected to your car.
