Long-Awaited Sequel To ‘A Christmas Story’ Gets HBO Max Release Date!

It’s taken nearly 30 years, but the long-awaited A Christmas Story finally has a delivery date.

Deadline reports that the 1983 spinoff, A Christmas Story Christmas, will premiere on HBO Max in November.

While the main film was set in 1940, the spin-off takes place 30 years later, in the 1970s, and stars Peter Billingsley as a now modestly mature Ralphie Parker. Ian Petrella (Randy), Zack Ward (Scut Farkus), Scott Schwartz (Flick) and RD Robb (Schwartz) switch positions.

The storyline revolves around Ralphie returning to the house on Cleveland Street to “give his youngsters a strong Christmas just like he grew up with. With comparative care for the established tone of the first, Ralphie reconnects with his valued, deep-seated sidekicks, forces the Old Man’s death, and sows the seeds for the beginning stages of a cherished event pattern.

The cast also includes Erinn Hayes (“Children’s Hospital”) as Ralphie’s wife, River Drosche (“The Miracle Worker”) as the couple’s young, young wife, and Julianna Layne (“Free Son”) and Julie Hagerty (“Plane!”). ), who played Ralphie’s mother), originally played Melinda Dillon.
