The two-faced villain Batman makes his new appearance for the first time

While we’re only two problems on the Ram V show and the all-new Rafael Albuquerque on Detective Comics, the pair are already making big waves with Batman and his rogue show. Issue 1064 of the long-running series has continued the story they started last month, but they’ve also brought fan-favorite villain back into the fold, Harvey Dent aka Two-Face. Having not appeared in a major way since the days of the Joker War, the now-defunct former prosecutor turned criminal, excused for the puns, the flip, looks like he was straight and narrow. Along with this new outlook on life comes a new look to his outward appearance as well. Spoilers follow Detective Comics #1064!

As the episode begins, a young woman sings a song in a bar (named after the Hindu deity Bhairava, a tease) while Harvey Dent watches. Wearing a carefully tailored three-piece suit, Dent also wears a golden mask on the left side of his face. Dent is also putting out a brand new coin, one with a large bat picture on one side, related to the series’ larger narrative of Barbatos seemingly playing with the comics. Who Should Join Harvey at His Table? Nobody but Bruce Wayne. While Bruce thinks that something has changed with Gotham (lest we forget that he lost most of his fortune), Harvey reiterates that he is no longer part of any secret dealings…

This is until the final sequence of the issue. After leaving the inn, Dent encounters new villains in the building, the Orgham’s, an ancient and seemingly evil criminal family who will lay claim to specific properties throughout Gotham City. Their name Orgham is of course a precursor to the family that would become Arkhams. Dent finds himself in a group ambush only to have a mysterious mist erupt across his face, apparently the same Batman watching him kill people all over Gotham City.

As he falls to the ground in agony, and Orgham worries that their plans of action need him back on top of Gotham’s underworld underworld, Harvey hears that familiar voice, the voice again asking for control, suggesting that they are turning to whoever takes control of their bodies. Two-Face is back.

You can check out the cover and full order for the next edition of Detective Comics below, which is of more interest to Two-Face.

It’s a tango to death where Batman dances with an old flame while trying not to catch fire. Using new information about “black noise,” Batman investigates his music box, leading him to question whether music is actually capable of containing physics-altering properties. Later, this theory was tested using Two-Face.
