Valve reveals good news for Steam Deck reservations

For those who have Steam Deck reserved, you might be looking at things for you. Steam Deck is one of the most in-demand gaming consoles on the market right now, but it’s been pretty limited since it went on sale earlier this year. Reservations for the device opened last summer, giving hopeful fans plenty of time to get their orders, but due to high demand, many had to wait months after its initial launch to get their orders. Just a few weeks ago, Valve announced that anyone with a Steam Deck reservation would be fulfilled by the end of 2022, something that was not previously guaranteed.

Now, Valve has confirmed that some orders will be shipped earlier than previously expected. Users who were previously told to expect Steam Deck to ship in the fourth quarter of the year may have moved their estimated window to the third quarter. This means that users who were expecting their unit to arrive between October and December may get it in the next few weeks. Of course, your mileage may vary, but it’s exciting news for those who were expecting Steam Deck to arrive around Christmas. Valve also revealed that Steam Deck daily bookings continue to grow and are now at their highest level since the device was launched at the beginning of 2022. Needless to say, it doesn’t look like the Steam Deck will become another Steam machine and it will turn out to be a massive failure.

The demand for the device may stem from games such as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered It works fine on Steam Deck. Lots of people like to take their favorite games on the go, but there are very few devices that are able to do that. Of course, the Nintendo Switch is there, but it just can’t play a lot of modern titles satisfactorily. Steam Deck’s enhanced hardware allows you to take some of the best games released today on the go.
