Xbox Game Pass Leak Reveals New Subscription Category

A new leak has confirmed that Xbox Game Pass is about to get an additional subscription tier in the near future. At this time, Microsoft has already begun initial testing of the Game Pass family plan option in select regions around the world. And while this version of the platform was supposed to come to other regions in due course, the leak has now shed new light on what the membership will actually call it.

Coming via Twitter user ALumia_Italia, an insider who has shared many Xbox scoops in the past, the upcoming Game Pass category that Microsoft is preparing to release will be called the Friends & Family plan. This information was shared via a new image that ALumia_Italia apparently found across the Xbox backend. Although no more details have been shared about this subscription plan for Xbox Game Pass, it will apparently allow users to pay a higher monthly cost while extending Game Pass Ultimate benefits to other users.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the new Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family logo leak is that it indicates that Microsoft may be planning to roll out a subscription category relatively soon. As mentioned, at the moment this membership is in beta for those in Columbia and Ireland. Assuming these tests go as intended, it looks like Microsoft may be in the process of rolling out the Friends & Family category to all other regions around the world before the end of 2022.

For now, we’re waiting to hear more about this new version of Xbox Game Pass from Microsoft, but it looks like additional details may be coming soon. When this information arrives, we’ll make sure to share the news with you here on ComicBook.com.
