The Pam and Tommy Hulu’s limited series has been the subject of much controversy since its inception. The Lily James and Sebastian Stan series were generally loved, but also received backlash for their portrayal of a sensitive subject. The time span captured on the show was one of Pamela Anderson’s biggest pains, and neither she nor Tommy Lee was involved in producing the show. Lily James was recently asked about Pam Anderson’s feelings and shared her view on the matter.

Anderson seems to agree, as she has chosen to take control of her own narrative in a Netflix documentary that she will help him.
Despite the series’ aversion to those close to the story, Pam and Tommy He also garnered a lot of praise, especially for performances by James and Stan. Both actors were nominated for a 2022 Emmy for their work on the series, and the show was nominated for an Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series. The show first gained buzz for the photos released from the show’s production, and the uncanny similarities between Stan and James and the stars they were filming.
Lily James in particular was committed to making her portrayal of Pamela Anderson as authentic as possible. She understood the responsibility associated with portraying such an iconic woman, and clearly had a lot of respect for Anderson, and what she went through during this time. James also felt the pressure involved Pam and Tommyespecially in depicting such a sensitive subject with the participation of real people.
