Blonde Netflix star Ana de Armas does not agree with the NC-17 rating

Ana de Armas does not agree with BlondeNC-17 evaluation. The Netflix star spoke to The Hollywood Reporter About the enthusiasm surrounding Marilyn Monroe’s biography. In the conversation, the actress explained that she felt there were many projects that were more meaningful than the movie they shot. Most of these are not rated NC-17. Director Andrew Dominic had a unique insight into the iconic actress’ story. He won’t be denied when he chases after a dream he brought to the masses. Netflix was happy to help and the resulting controversy helped raise the profile of this project greatly. Check out what she had to say about the situation below.

“I didn’t get why this happened. I can tell you a number of shows or movies that are more explicit with much more sexual content than BlondeI explained. “But in order to tell this story it is important to show all these moments in Marilyn’s life that made her end up the way she did. It needed an explanation. Everyone [in the cast] I knew we had to go to uncomfortable places. I wasn’t the only one.”

Dominic told The Playlist that he was surprised by the MPAA’s decision to rate the film NC-17. The director admitted that his job was to inform viewers, but believed that he may have hindered the project from reaching the finish line.

“Yeah, that was a bit surprising, because he got that rating,” Dominic began. “It was really #MeToo that allowed this to happen Blonde is happening. It was a golden moment where you had to believe a woman’s perspective no matter what. Whereas before that I think people were really uncomfortable with how Blonde I depicted some sacred American cows. And then it became a golden moment where it didn’t matter whether they were sacred cows or not, and that’s why they were made, what allowed them to happen in the end.”

“Here’s the thing, though. It’s not like I’m unsympathetic to their point of view, you know? NC-17 is not a good thing for your movie, you can’t be on certain billboards and you can’t advertise certain things and there are all kinds of restrictions that It is being imposed on you because of this rating.” “So, getting NC-17 is not good, you know, and it’s not something I wanted in the movie. Also, I don’t think it’s something the movie deserves, it doesn’t really reflect society’s norms, I think it’s about something political.”

“we will, Blonde He’d have a kind of theatrical version of, “Continue Dominic.” I mean, you can’t have a billboard, and…what I don’t understand is why Netflix signed up with the MPAA anyway. I mean, there must be some advantages. I just can’t understand why anyone would put themselves under such censorship if they didn’t have to, but… you know, honestly, I probably shouldn’t be thinking about these things because I really don’t. [know enough about it.]”
