Louvre Fantastique in Oakbrook, Illinois, allows you to explore the museum without a trip to France!

Oakbrook, Illinois – No need to pack your bags in France, you can see the Louvre’s most priceless pieces right here in Chicago!

“What it is, it is an exhibition that aims to bring works from the Louvre, not just to the United States but to life,” said Joan Caruba, Art Curator at Louvre Fantastic.

The gallery, located in Oakbrook, features more than 100 iconic pieces by artists such as Da Vinci, Jack Louis and many more.

“What makes the Louvre Fantastic special is the fact that you can get your hands on things,” Karupa said.

You don’t have to be afraid to touch this work of art because you are allowed to get your hands on it!

Many of the pieces contain items that you can interact with physically to manipulate and alter the art in front of you, perfect for curious little ones and people of all ages.

“You can awaken a child’s love for art and learning, and make it a truly special experience,” Karupa said.

This experience aims to open up a world of being able to approach art in a new way.

“It’s a fun way to see art and a lot of it has made us things that are bigger than they are in real life, and when you do that you can let people look at it more closely and see more things in it,” Karupa said. .

Many of the pieces have QR codes next to them so attendees can learn more about the works in the exhibition through the Louvre Fantastique app.

“The idea behind QR codes is that you can scan them and either hear more about the piece or there is a fun interactive element that comes with it,” Carrubba said.

Come and experience this immersive exhibition and learn more about the work of the infamous Louvre Museum in France.

“It’s a really great experience,” Karupa said. “It was great to see the response to that.”

Don’t forget to download the Louvre Fantastique app before you go so you can experience all the immersive elements of the gallery.

Louvre Fantastique is located in the basement of a former Sears building at 2120 Oakbrook Centre.
