Pastor of The Lighthouse Angel Church Owolow, Ode Egba, in Obafemi Owdi Local Government Area, Reverend Michael Abiodun has been arrested by men from the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly desecrating and carrying a 48-year-old member of his church. (Name withheld).
The pastor was arrested following information from the headquarter of the Audi Egba that the victim’s mother joined the church as a result of a spiritual problem that led to the death of two of her daughters. In order to prevent the victim from the same disaster, she ran to the church for salvation.
On the fateful day, the priest, a father of three, asked the victim’s mother to send her to him for a special prayer, but upon reaching there, the priest took her to a room inside the church and she had a strong physical acquaintance with her which resulted in a pregnancy.
Acting on the information, the department of DPO Owode Egba, CSP Olasunkanmi Popoola, detailed investigators to the scene where Randy Pasteur was immediately arrested.
Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime but blamed it on Satan. He also admitted that he was the one who brought the victim early and who was a JSS 2 student.
The victim’s mother explained to the police that since her daughter had not menstruated before, it was difficult for her to find out that she was pregnant until seven months later. The victim, who gave birth to a baby three months ago, informed the police that she was threatened by the priest of bold consequences if she informed anyone of what happened between them, which is why her mother was not informed.
On the other hand, the Police Commissioner, CB Lanre Bancol, has ordered the suspect to be transferred to the state criminal investigation departments for further investigation and possible prosecution.
