Emily Blunt’s Western Series The English Reveals The First Trailer For Amazon Prime

One Media released the first trailer for English, an upcoming western series starring Emily Blunt as a grieving mother who wants revenge on the man she believes killed her son. Described as an “epic Western hunt that takes the core themes of identity and revenge to tell a uniquely compelling tale of race, power and love,” the series is scheduled for release on Prime Video in November. The prestigious six-part TV series will be heading to the UK, but not on Amazon (there, it will air on the BBC).

English Written and directed by Hugo Blake, and produced by Colin Wrighten (Kill Eve(with executive producers Blick, Blunt, and Greg Brenman)meager masks). It also features a role for Justice Squad Villain Ciaran Hinds.

Here’s the official synopsis for the series: An epic Western, English-style hunt that takes on the core themes of identity and revenge to tell a uniquely compelling tale of race, power, and love. An aristocratic Englishwoman, Lady Cornelia Locke, and a former Pawnee scout, Eli Webb, gather in 1890 Central America to cross a violent spectacle based on dreams and blood. They both have a clear sense of their destiny, but neither of them realize that it is rooted in a shared past. They must face increasingly terrifying obstacles that will test them to their limits, both physically and psychologically. But as each obstacle is overcome, it brings them closer to their final destination – the new town of Hoxem, Wyoming. Here, following an investigation by local Mayor Robert Marshall and young widow Martha Myers into a series of strange and horrific unsolved murders, the full extent of their truly intertwined histories will be understood, and they will come face to face with the future they must live.

English Written and directed by Hugo Blake. Emily Blunt and Chask Spencer lead a staff that includes Raf Spall, Tom Hughes, Stephen Rea, Valerie Bachner, Toby Jones, Ciaran Hinds, Malcolm Storey, Steve Wall, Nicola McAuliffe, Sully Remy, Christian Solimino, Nakota Kennedy and Miguel Alvarez.
