Gameplay in God of War Ragnarok reveals new weapon details

More play from God of War Ragnarok It was revealed this week to show more God of War The sequel and the weapons that Kratos will use in it. He will of course have the famous Leviathan Ax and Blades of Chaos as he did at the end of the 2018 game, but as recent details have confirmed, we’ll see him pick up some new gadgets as well: Dauntless and Stonewall Shields. This latest gameplay offered these two defensive options as well as upgrades given to his primary weapons.

The gameplay in question comes from Game Informer and marks the first time we’ve seen Kratos’ new weapons and abilities on display to such an extent. One notable change made in this game is that the triangle button now enables any weapon you’ve equipped instead of switching between Blades of Chaos and Leviathan Ax. Distinctive Weapon Moves include saturating the Frost Awaken and blades with “Whiplash” that deal with the effects of the Frost and Fire element, respectively.

“In the last game, if you press Triangle, you will remember the axe,” said chief combat designer Mihir Sheth. detective game. “But if you already had the axe, nothing would happen. If you had the blades of chaos and you pressed the triangle, you just went back to the axe. We looked at this concept and wondered, ‘What if you could do something a little different with this button – a whole new set of the movements. “

These weapons are accompanied by the new armor mentioned earlier. This Dauntless Shield focuses more on quick actions like slashes and counters while Stonewall Shield absorbs energy rather than dodges. That energy can then be unleashed back towards the enemies to knock them away. Other shields have been teased as well, so it looks like Kratos will once again be putting together a bunch of gadgets to use throughout the game similar to what we’ve seen in previous entries in the series. However, it has not been confirmed that we will see Kratos obtain other primary weapons besides the Blades of Chaos and Leviathan Ax.

God of War Ragnarok Coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on November 9.
