Warning: major spoilers ahead of the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power In the future.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power finally arrived, Nearly five years after it was first announced Developed by Amazon Prime. While the broadcaster plans for weekly releases such as the schedule for boys, the first two episodes were released together on the first night in a special time. After watching, I feel relieved to say that this special edition was the smartest way to donate rings of strength Its strongest possible start.

In fact, for most of the first episode, I found myself thinking the show was exactly what I expected, complete with plenty of footage from the trailers. (Although I will admit that I was very wrong in my guessing that people use swords around fire They were men whose rings would spoil them to become Nazgul. They were actually elves.)
Getting exactly what I expected and not much more didn’t really make the story of the first episode stand out to me, especially compared to HBO Dragon House, a rival fantasy series that actually surprised me a few times despite knowing the source material. The first episode simply wasn’t very strong from a story perspective, even if it was visually stunning. However, Episode 2 raised the stakes, exceeded my expectations from Episode 1, and ventured into some undiscovered areas that left me wishing I could start Episode 3 right away. (Other critics largely agreed on this I appreciate the first two episodes as a pair.)
By releasing the first two episodes instead of the predictable first, Amazon introduced rings of strength Strong start. Trailers tell me that Galadriel will end up in the water, that many characters will witness the meteor fall, and there will be a man in that meteor. that they he did not do He told me that the orcs would break through the land to plunder villages, or that Elrond would have definite ties to the dwarves of Khazad-dom, or that the Meteor Man could talk to fireflies, among only three of the developments.
I didn’t know for sure that I’d be rooting for more Galadriel and Halbrand scenes after their joint NDE, and I don’t know what would happen to them next even though they seem to have been saved. The first episode seemed to be based on the characters who were fans of lotter You may recognize books and/or movies, and are presented through heavy narratives. There was more show than talk in episode 2, and it delighted me throughout the hour that I decided to binge-watch both.
And I was able to catch the second right after the first at just the right hour thanks to Amazon showing up the first two earlier in the night than usual for the streaming service. As a resident of the Eastern time zone, my options for streaming new releases in general are 1) stay until 3am to watch, 2) get up early and watch, or 3) delay watching and risk spoiling everyone in more convenient time zones. The rest of the episodes will also air earlier Netflix style at 3AM EDT / 12AM PST, with each episode released from Episode 3 to the end in October at 12AM ET / 9PM ET Pacific. So the timing was a hit for me personally!
Amazon has moved away from the way streaming services typically release new episodes and new shows, and this has given The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power A solid release that has me probably going to stay up until midnight to watch it next week. This probably wouldn’t have been the case right away if you had only seen the first episode at a less favorable time. Amazon’s resilience against the streaming standard worked well for me at least, and I’d be curious to see if the company releases any numbers to reveal how many people tuned in ASAP.
