Logitech mobile cloud gaming is real – here’s what we know

Logitech has partnered with Tencent Games to create a mobile gaming device that runs on Android. The unnamed device is expected to launch sometime in 2022 and is designed to support multiple cloud gaming services, according to Logitech Blog Post (Opens in a new tab) Official announcement of the product. According to the blog, the two companies are working with the Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now teams to bring this portable device to life. The goal is to allow users to play “AAA games” from anywhere.

After the announcement, we didn’t receive much information in the blog post. We don’t know how much this handheld device will cost or the exact release date, other than a vague “later this year”. Today’s announcement didn’t reveal what the Logitech laptop will look like. Given how it launched this year, this seems strange.

This is an official confirmation that a Logitech handheld game is on the horizon, but rumors about such a machine have been circulating for several weeks. Recently, the leaker Evan Blass (Opens in a new tab) Posting leaked photos of the supposed device on Twitter. the truth Logitech quickly filed a DMCA complaint (Opens in a new tab) Against Blass gave the infusion legality. Of course, Plus’s leak turns out – at least in terms of the mobile device’s existence – to be subtle.

And if so, the leaked images may be legitimate, although we can’t say for sure if they are or not. But if that’s true, Logitech’s hardware looks a lot like the Nintendo Switch Lite. In fact, the portable user interface is very reminiscent of the Switch user interface. One of the leaked images showed the icons for YouTube, Chrome, Nvidia, Xbox and Steam. The latter is interesting because it suggests that you can stream Steam games on it.
