The Rings of Power attracts 25 million viewers for its premiere

With so many bucks behind Rings of Power, this global audience of over 25 million is the best and biggest Amazon Prime Video premiere in its 15-year history.

Set thousands of years before Tolkien’s tales of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power takes fans new and old to Middle Earth and the quiet days of the Second Age…well, it seems serene at first glance. The first eight-episode season will run until October 14.

When Prime Video acquired the rights to a file Tolkien’s ownership in 2017 for $250 millionThe broadcaster is committed to five seasons. The big-budget first season was filmed in New Zealand, where Peter Jackson made his Academy Award-winning trilogy. The second season saw the series move to the United Kingdom, with production beginning there.
