AEW All Out Names Interim Women’s World Champion

previous to Aew all out 2022 Thunder Rosa has unfortunately announced that she has sustained an injury and will not defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Tony Storm as initially planned. In the wake of the injury, All Elite Wrestling announced that a four-way match will take place at Everyone is outside To be named the women’s world champion. Former champs Dr. Brett Baker, DMD, and Hikaru Shida were selected as match participants, along with Tony Storm and Jimmy Hayter.

There were a lot of close calls throughout the match, but she eventually went to Tony Storm, winning her first AEW title.

The match started as expected, with Hayter and Baker mostly working against Sheda Storm, tucking heels into the kid’s faces. While Storm has had an ongoing rivalry against Baker and Hayter in recent months, working alongside Thunder Rosa, Baker and Shida have bad blood going back for a long time. Becker was the one who ended Sheda’s career at the world championships.

In the end, Storm and Shida went one-on-one in the ring with each other, although they had a nice moment of camaraderie when Rebel tried to interrupt and say it wasn’t their time. An out-of-the-ring attack on Sheda saw her walk out of the ring with the doctors, and Storm was left alone in the match against two close allies. Sheda came back two minutes later to get things going, hitting Baker and Hayter.

Lots of impending falls were cut short by competitors over the course of a few minutes, including Storm breaking Hayter’s Shida pin. Hayter was ready to pin Sheda but Baker withdrew the referee from the ring, causing a rift between the two. Baker went so far as to try to install Hayter. Tony Storm eventually benefited and pinned Hayter to the provisional Women’s World Championships.

Before All Out, Thunder Rosa sat down with Busted Open Radio to talk about her injury, stressing that it’s a legitimate issue and not part of AEW’s story.

“I’m not the best physically now,” Rosa said last week. “Yesterday I was in so much pain.” “A lot has happened in the last two weeks. Unfortunately, I will be off duty. I don’t know for how long. Probably for a few months. I have a problem with my back and yesterday, I was trying to be strong. Back problems are not easy. Some days are good, some days are not. Yesterday wasn’t a good day, I was in so much pain.”

“That’s one of the reasons I take a vacation. I want to empty the air, it’s not fake. This is not work. I don’t compare injuries to injuries. If I can walk damned, I can ****** work,” she continued. “Dr. Sampson, I’m not allowed to wrestle. I’m not allowed to wrestle. It’s not that I don’t want to do a Sunday match. [AEW All Out]I can not walk. It’s such a shame that this was put on social media, not only to denigrate me as an athlete, but to denigrate me as a wrestler. I want to walk when I’m 40. I have the right to say “No, I can’t walk, I can’t do that.” I don’t want to have surgery. If we keep doing this and get past the pain, I’ll be out longer. I don’t want to do that.”
