It looks like Netflix will be losing another sitcom at the end of October: Schitt’s Creek will follow in the footsteps of shows like 30 Rock and The Office, leaving Netflix in favor of an entirely new streaming service. In this case, the show will make itself at home on Hulu.
Schitt’s Creek first aired in 2015, and ran for six seasons before ending in 2020. Created by Eugene and Dan Levy, who also co-stars on the show, Schitt’s Creek sees Rose’s family lose their fortune after being cheated on by their manager. Their only remaining assets are the deed of the remote Canadian town of Cheets Creek – originally purchased as a gag gift for David Rose (Dan Levy)’s son several years ago.
Rose’s family consists of Patriarch Johnny (Eugene Levy), the most regular of the group, his wife Moira (Catherine O’Hara), an eccentric former actress, and their two children. David is the troubled son, while daughter Alexis (Annie Murphy) is a spoiled and spoiled socialite.
Needless to say, the four are struggling with their new situation, especially after having to move into a flowy motel and realizing that owning a city isn’t all there is to it.
Schitt’s Creek has been streaming on Netflix in the US since early 2017. Sadly, the five-year tours are coming to a close, with Hulu getting exclusive rights to Schitt’s Creek for the next two years. according to imp news (Opens in a new tab) The show will then be split between Hulu and Paramount Plus during the third year.
This news originally surfaced in April, when Hulu announced the news, and was said to have paid $1.2 million per episode. However, the change won’t happen until October 3rd, which is just under a month. It’s also the second anniversary of Netflix adding the last season of the show to its US catalog.

While Schitt’s Creek starts out fairly slow, it grows into something special during the first two seasons. Schitt’s Creek may not have as much traction as shows like Seinfeld or The Office, but it’s still a fun and entertaining show. In particular, you see, Rose’s family grows and adjusts to their new life, and realizes that life at Chet Creek isn’t quite as bad as they initially assumed.
There are 81 episodes in total, each recording 22 minutes. This means that the entire show can easily be watched before it goes from Netflix to Hulu. You have four weeks to make this happen, and the earlier you start, the easier it will be.
