Close friends Lightning McQueen and Mater meet up to tell us some new stories with “Cars on the Road.” The new series of animated shorts follows the duo as they embark on a cross-country trip.
Larry the Cable Guy and Owen Wilson give their voices back to fan-favorite animated characters.
“The sense of humor is great,” said Larry the Cable Guy. “I was really excited to shoot it.” “We had to laugh about this. We literally had to stop a few times, because they were getting mad at me because I couldn’t stop laughing.”
Larry says it’s easy for him to return to the character he first voiced in 2006.
“I do Mater all the time,” said Larry. “If someone wants me to do something for the kids, or a birthday call, I always do Mater.” “I don’t get out of practice out of Mater’s work. Plus it’s not far from my real voice, so it’s not too hard to do! My personality is what I put into Mater. I think maybe that’s why I can do it so well, because it’s my kind of.”
“Cars on the Road” is set to premiere on Disney+ Day, Thursday, September 8th.
