PS5 system update adds much needed features and settings

A new PlayStation 5 system software update has been officially released as of earlier today. The new PS5 system update brings a much needed set of features from the beta version, which was released two months ago, to everyone globally using one of the PlayStation consoles. This includes, but is not limited to, support for 1440p HDMI video output, the ability to create “game playlists” that are essentially folders, and more.

Hideaki Nishino, Senior Vice President, Platform Experience, says at PlayStation Blog Post It details the new PS5 system software update. “The update includes many much needed features like 1440p video output and game menus, as well as social features like the ability to request screen sharing from a party member, easily view new friends profiles, and receive a notification to help you join a friend’s game more quickly. through a group chat.

  • In the Game Library, you can now create custom game lists to better organize your games.
  • You can create your own game list within the game library by selecting [Your Collection] tab.
  • Select the games to add to your list of games, then select the name you want to name.
  • We have updated the following for the game help feature:
  • Game Help now notifies you when help is available, on both PS5 and mobile via the PlayStation app.
  • You can set whether or not to display game Help notifications. On PS5, select [Settings] > [Notifi cations] > [Game Help]. In the PlayStation app, select [Settings] > [Push Notifications] > [Game Help].
  • HDMI 1440p video output is now supported.
  • Before use, test to see if your HDMI device supports 1440p output by going to [Settings] > [Screen and Video] > [Video Output] > [Test 1440p Output].
  • We have updated the following in Game Base:
  • You can now ask group members to start screen sharing to see how they play.
  • Go to the voice chat card, select the group member you want to send the request to, then select [Request Share Screen].
  • When you join a group, and one of the group members plays a game that you can join, you will now receive a notification. You can join the game directly from the notification.
  • When you receive a message, you can now view the sender’s profile by selecting the message and pressing the Options button.
  • We have updated the following for [Friend Requests].
  • When you accept a friend request in [Received] menu, you can now view your new friend’s profile in [Accepted Requests].
  • In the Game Base card, you can now send stickers and voice messages to your groups.
  • The following features have been added to the gaming hubs:
  • Activities in progress can now be displayed prominently at the top of the Game Center to make it easy to get back to where you left off as quickly as possible.
  • If game instructions are available for an activity, the . file [View Hints] The button will appear.
  • In the [Videos based on your recent gameplay] In the section, you’ll see labels explaining why the videos are recommended to you, such as “Quick Play,” “High Score,” or “Performance.”
  • While using the web browser, you can now choose between two types of zoom functions.

  • Voice commands now support searching for content in YouTube using voice. Currently, Voice Command (Preview) is only available in English for players with PSN accounts in the US and UK.
  • From anywhere on the PS5, including while gaming, you can say “Hey PlayStation, find to YouTube. The YouTube app will open and relevant search results will appear.

  • Custom button assignments are now enabled on the passcode entry screen.
  • We have updated the DualSense Wireless Controller software to improve stability.
  • Resolved an issue causing system software errors during rest mode on some PS5 consoles.

As mentioned above, the new PlayStation 5 system software update #22.02-06.00 is now available, and it will likely have already installed itself automatically for most people.
