Houston weather: Recent rains completely busted the drought in Bayou City (for now)!

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – How about some good news? The recent rains broke the drought completely in Houston!

Drought conditions have completely disappeared from most of Harris, Liberty and Montgomery counties, but severe drought conditions persist west of Houston, ABC13 chief meteorologist Travis Herzog says.

In the past 30 days, more than a foot of rain has fallen in parts of Houston and Harris County, and that’s been enough to completely eliminate drought conditions for most of Houston’s residents.

Drought conditions have eased in much of Texas, but we still have ways to cut them completely.

In fact, Travis says drought conditions will remain the same or worsen slightly over the next week with a mostly dry weather pattern over the Lone Star State.
