Idris Elba admits playing James Bond is not a career goal

after, after No time to die Daniel Craig’s tenure has ended as James Bond’s tenure has ended and the role is officially available. People were throwing names in the ring to whoever they thought would be as good as the next 007. Among the names are Henry Cavill, Richard Madden, Tom Hardy and even Idris Elba. The latter has been a favorite of the group for years due to its charisma and natural ostentation. Elba was recently revealed to be the lead producer on the franchise’s future mind, but it looks like the actor probably doesn’t want to take on the role. During his recent appearance, Elba revealed that playing James Bond does not satisfy any of his goals.

“I’m not going to lie, every corner of the world I go to – and I’m talking about different cultures – they always say: ‘Bond! Elba told The Shop podcast LeBron James (via Limit). “I don’t think playing Bond will satisfy some of my personal goals.”

Elba previously appeared on Jemele Hill’s Is Unbothered, revealing that he doesn’t know anything about the role of James Bind.

“I don’t have any more answers for that. I just tell people ‘Don’t ask me that.’ Because a lot of times the press is really lazy,” Elba explained. And people try to use it as a click bait like ‘What’s he going to say this time?’ “I try to say the same things. Every now and then I tease them, but every now and then I’ll give them some philosophy as to why I don’t want to do it or why it’s a rumor. But most of the time now you don’t tend to talk about it.”

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli earlier told Deadline that there is no first runner yet, because there is no one in the race. They’re still too early to write the next 007 version. Besides the fact that they just want the guys to play the character, there are plenty of avenues for the team to explore.

“Nobody’s into running,” Broccoli recently said of the upcoming Bond star. “We’re working out where we’re going, talking about it through. There’s no script and we can’t come up with a single script until we decide how we’re going to deal with the next movie because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re reinventing his identity and that takes time. I’d like To say we are at least two years away from filming.”
