Niko Nikos I10 worker killed: Emily Rodriguez Avila identified as 16-year-old girl whose body dumped in Liberty County!

Liberty County, Texas (KTRK) – Deputies for Liberty County sheriffs released the name of a 16-year-old girl whose body was found dumped on a country road over the weekend but didn’t do much in a multi-county puzzle Thursday.

Emily Rodriguez-Avila has been identified as the teen who was found with a gunshot wound Sunday morning on the side of County Road 3550, near County Road 5708, on the northern tip of the county.

Rodriguez Avila’s body was found wearing a hairnet and a blue T-shirt and hat with the brand name “Nico” on it, the mayor’s office said early in the investigation.

“The Sheriff’s Office is still awaiting autopsy results to identify other factors as the investigation continues,” a Liberty County press release said Thursday.

Despite the hard-line nature of law enforcement in the days following the discovery, Eyewitness News was able to confirm that the teen worked two jobs in the Houston Memorial District: at McDonald’s and at Nikko Niko near I-10 and the West Beltway.

ABC13’s coverage of the intercounty murder mystery:

Nico Nico managers told ABC13 that Emily worked Saturday evening before her body was found, deepening the 55-mile mystery between her workplace and the country road.

An eyewitness news source also reported that CCTV captured what may be her last recorded sign of life when she was seen getting into a friend’s car as it was leaving Nico Nico.

The source adds that one of her relatives usually picks her up from work, but she told her relative that her boyfriend was picking her up on Saturday.

Liberty County investigators couldn’t promise a speedy arrest but confirmed that someone would be detained.

“I can’t promise anyone that he will be arrested soon,” Captain Ken Devore said at Liberty County on Tuesday. “But, you can rest assured, we will find out who did it, and they will be arrested. That’s for sure. They will be arrested.”

If you know anything about this case, authorities urge you to call the Liberty County Police Office at (936) 336-4500 or Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP.

Tips that lead to the arrest of the responsible person may receive a cash reward, and the identity of the caller will remain anonymous.
