MultiVersus update removes dash from one of Velma’s moves

MultiVersus I got a new update this week that did a lot of different things from adding a new character to a lot of balancing updates, but Velma in particular changed one move and seems to be under scrutiny. Velma’s passive ability, Snoopin’, allowed her to gather evidence before the police call her opponents, which would trap a fighter and attempt to drive them off the stage. This ability is still in the game, but Velma now summons the Mystery Machine instead of the police.

The update patch notes didn’t make a big deal about the change itself but did include it in the notes pane for Velma. The way the passive works remains the same, but expect the mysterious machine to be called now instead of the police.

Velma’s revised negative notes explained: “Instead of calling the police, Velma now solves the mystery and contacts the gang of Mystery Inc. and the mysterious machine to keep the bad guys out.”

The video below is from Twitter user and MultiVersus pro Bugzii shows what this new passive looks like whenever it is used.

While no clear reason has been given as to why this would change, it appears that MultiVersus The team may not have liked Velma’s police-calling visuals on certain characters. In addition to naming a movie “Karen” some MultiVersus The players were Post clips or photos Velma is shown calling the police on LeBron James specifically.

Mystery Inc. is not. Really throwing suspects into their Mystery Machine in previous Scooby-Doo releases, but it makes sense that the vehicle would be in the game in general given that Velma and Shaggy are both playable fighters. Whether this was always a negative planned change or one that was carried over a little faster after players started sharing these types of scenes, this is a change in effect now MultiVersus.
