WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan managed to counter Shayna Bazler’s deadliest moves in Clash at the Castle and continue her reign with the title, and now she’ll defend her title once again at the upcoming Extreme Rules live event. Her match opponent was determined in a fatal five-way match on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, and that match featured Lacey Evans, Natalya, Sonya Deville, Shea Lee and Ronda Rousey, who defeated Morgan at SummerSlam to retain her title. After tonight’s game, it will be Ronda Rousey who will face Morgan for the title at Strict Rules, which takes place next month.
Deville chased Rousey first but this was countered at a bar so everyone joined in with Rousey, throwing her out. Shea then tried to pin Natalya but she hit the clothesline and went to get a pin herself, but Shea kicked out. This was followed by a sniper attempt but Evans broke it to the woman only to have Deville hit her with a single blow. Rossi then pulled Deville out of the ring and hit her in the barrier.

Then Rousey chased Natalia’s arm and closed a bar and had to come out, knocking her out of the match. Evans broke his neck on Rousey and then went for cover but Rousey was saved by a bar. Shea broke it and then rammed her leg on Rossi and went for cover but was kicked out. She picked up Rossi but ran away and tried to lock a rod, but Evans rolled and broke Rossi.
Rossi then put Evans in an arm while Deville locked one of them up on Shea, and both were eliminated. It was just Deville and Rousey, and while Deville went on a takedown, Rousey came up and hit more punches. Deville tried to push her away and then Rossi moved through a motion and lifted her into Piper’s pit, but Deville then fended off and choked.
Rossie was shocked Deville but she was still on her back, although bumping into the fender finally broke him. Rousey rolled it in the ring and then raised it again, this time hitting a Piper Pitt and going to the arm bar. Then I went to lock the ankle and locked it, and Deville had to click. Now Rousey is the #1 contender for the Morgan’s SmackDown Women’s Championship.
