David Harbor’s Red Guardian will soon return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Lightning, an upcoming team flick that will bring some of the MCU’s most iconic villains and anti-heroes together on the same team. According to Harbor himself, he is even more excited about the movie’s production after learning that the Red Guardian will be getting a new suit in the movie.
The Stranger Things graduate said, “I was told I was going to get a new suit. And I don’t want to say the ‘F’, but I’m really excited about it.” Marvel.com. “You watch Captain America and you see him in all these different movies, and you see him as the White Star and the Black Star [on his costume.] I just want full wardrobe suits, and I’m on my way. “
Join the Red Guardian on the team including Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), US Agent (Wyatt Russell) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
Harbor has always been his character’s biggest support, having said there are plenty of stories to tell that showcase the Russian equivalent of Captain America.
“They don’t let you say these things. I would like there to be more Red Guardian, and I’d like you guys to have more Red Guardian because that always helps the cause,” formerly Harbor diverse about the future of his MCU. “I like the character, there are a lot of things you can do with him. There is a gap of 25 years where we don’t know who he is, what is his version of events compared to the actual version of events?”
He added, “What happened to him after that movie, and why doesn’t Thanos fight? Where is he at that time, and what happened next? Then after that, when [Natasha] Die, what happens next? It’s a lot of fun for me and I hope there’s interest on other levels, and maybe we’ll see more.”
Lightning It is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2024.
