Lord of the Rings stars make a secret inscription in Rings of Power | movies | entertainment

The Rings of Power TV series, The Lord of the Rings, continued over the weekend with its third episode, Adar, on Amazon Prime Video. While the episode continued a number of storylines across Middle-Earth, it also hid some of the big stars from the original franchise trilogy, as well as the Hobbit series.

The blink event came and you’ll miss after Galadriel and Halbrand arrive in Numenor. And soon the latter got into a violent situation with some of the guards.

Halbrand was threatened by guards who did not underestimate his presence (or that of Galadriel).

After a round of drinking, Halbrand quickly walked out before revealing that he had stolen the guard’s badge.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t as sneaky as he thought. And before he knew it, the guards found him in an alley and proceeded to attack him.

But loyal fans of Tolkien’s work on the silver screen may have noticed some familiar faces in this brutal street fight.

Jason Hood played the leader of the attackers, Tamar, who appeared in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in 2002.

He was an uncredited member of Thjoden’s royal guard when he visited Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Gandalf of Rohan.

Hood was not alone. He worked alongside some of Tolkien’s other supporters.

The other members of the crew who tried to beat Halbrand were also key members of the Lord of the Rings game team.

Earlier this year, Ian McKellan spoke openly about not being asked to return to the series.

The Rings of Power takes place centuries before the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but since Gandalf is an ethereal being who has lived for thousands of years, McKellan’s return is plausible.

With that, he was asked if he would ever come back.

He replied, “I was waiting for the call, but it did not come!”

McKellan referred to the Rings of Strength, adding, “There will be new stories from [author JRR] Tolkien under the title, I think, The Lord of the Rings, on Amazon.”

“But I gather that Gandalf will not be a part of them,” he added.

When asked if he’ll appear in a later season of the show, he replied, “Well, it’s a part you can’t be too old for! I think he’s 7,000 years old!”

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is now available to watch.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power continues Friday on Amazon Prime Video.
