Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A woman was injured after a gunman opened fire on her home in the second wing during a drive-by shooting during the night.

Police said the woman, in her 20s, was injured when someone opened fire outside the house in Building 5300 on Margarita Street around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said the woman was in a bedroom in the house when the shooting occurred.

She was hit by two bullets in the leg and is expected to survive.

Police are searching for an old-fashioned red SUV after witnesses reportedly captured a video of the vehicle leaving the area.

Investigators found a number of shell casings on the street in front of the house.

“The night before, there was also some shooting that took place in this area,” Lieutenant Wilkins said. “So the officers are trying to find out if this might be related somehow.”

Police said there were other family members inside the house at the time, including children. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
