Ishin announced by RGG Studio

Ahead of its special presentation next day, developer RGG Studio has revealed that it’s bringing one of the last remaining Yakuza games previously unreleased in the West to modern platforms. It was first launched in 2014, Yakuza: Ishin! It was an episodic entry that occurred in the 19th century and included many of the same faces from the core installments. And while Western audiences have been hoping the game will run for some time, RGG Studio is now finally working to meet those requests.

It was officially revealed at the PlayStation State of Play presentation today, Like a dragon: Ishin It was announced that it would arrive on PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms in February 2023. Rather than just being a port of the original game, Like a dragon: Ishin It will be a complete reproduction that greatly improves the visuals and gameplay from the initial release on PS3.

Our hero, Sakamoto Ryoma, is a true historical figure who is largely credited with overthrowing the shogunate and taking Japan on a process of radical reform,” says Sega’s official description of the game via PlayStation Blog. “Like a dragon: Ishin He brings familiar faces to tell this epic historical story. Fans will recognize our hero as Kazuma Kiryu from previous entries in the franchise. in IshinKiryu was cast as Sakamoto Ryoma and brought on the rest of his crew as well. Goro Majima and other famous Yakuza join Ryoma as friends and foes in this fantasy world that trades the glamorous streets of Tokyo for the chaotic hustle of Kyo in the 1860s. These new character dynamics are as exciting as they are unexpected, with a series of incredible twists and turns in a story that only studio RGG could tell.”
