Valkyrie Elysium, the new Action-RPG from developer Soleil Ltd. And Square Enix being billed as a new entry in the Valkyrie series is almost here. Helpfully, it can be greatly upgraded by investing gems and lives, unlocking new ways to bundle one attack into another or adding passive bonuses like more health. Divine arts can also be discovered, which are basically Valkyrie ElysiumIt’s magic, which causes different types of elemental damage.
The focus of the gameplay in the demo is on figuring out how to hit enemies’ weaknesses using a combination of different types of weapons and initial attacks. Hitting weak enemies with the Lightning Bolt, for example, can stun them and allow them an easier time dealing damage, and different enemies can also have weaknesses in a certain type of weapon. While the demo covers only a brief section from the beginning of the game, it seems fairly obvious that a large part of the Valkyrie Elysium It’ll be about manipulating them to make sure you deal as much damage as possible, which is simple enough thanks to the fact that initial weaknesses are labeled directly on enemies when you lock them up.
It’s hard to say what the full video game will look like at launch based on this small segment, but the show itself is promising. Given that it’s slated for release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 29 ahead of the PC release via Steam on November 11, it seems unlikely that much will change terribly. The combat is a satisfying mixture of different abilities all linked together towards a common goal, and the premise of its story is interesting if not immediately engaging.
