“Not now, probably not next year,” Luhrmann explained. “But I don’t close my mind to the idea that there might be a way to explore another way in the future [cut]. I have to be really careful here, because the moment I put it there… I tell you what, all my tweets are just, ‘We want a four-hour version! We want a copy of four hours! I think people are standing at my gate with pitchforks saying, “We want a four-hour version!” But I don’t close my mind to the idea that there will be an extended cut. Right now, with how long she’s been in theaters and how well she’s doing, she’s pushed the boundaries. But it did so well on HBO Max over the weekend, so it’s all about the parent company’s continuity of, “Wow, it’s really worth the money.”
