The fourth episode of the program Dragon House“The King of the Narrow Sea” was released on Sunday and featured Damon Targaryen (Matt Smith) with his niece Rainera Targaryen (Millie Alcock) on a King’s Landing tour. Things took a huge turn when they ended up in the pleasure house and engaged in some steamy activities that are quite questionable for a couple of relatives. During a recent interview with New York PostAlcock talked about filming the “Nerly” brothel scene.
“No, strange. [Matt Smith and I] They were just buddies,” Alcock explained when asked if filming the scene was awkward. So, it was very convenient…we had an intimacy coordinator, we worked with her through the training process and we stopped her months ago. She added, “Our manager Claire Kellner made sure we didn’t see any of the brothel stuff until we were shooting…So it was our first time walking into the brothel, and he’s driving her through the room with all these other bodies.” So, that was very shocking. You’re like, ‘That’s kind of weird and ridiculous.'”
Alcock added, “There were additional people we just met who were like, 69 for 12 hours… It’s very abnormal. We felt over-dressed because everyone was naked.” She explained, “Rainera is at an age where she can’t distinguish between platonic love, romantic love, and lust because she hasn’t lived long enough and had those experiences…I think she realizes that there I feel here. [with Daemon]but she’s not quite sure where it lands, how to act with it and navigate it.”
The scene between Daemon and Rhaenyra wasn’t the only sexual encounter in “King of the Narrow Sea.” There was also an uncomfortable sex scene between Queen Aliscent (Emily Carey) and King Viserys (Paddy Considine). During a recent interview with NEWSWEEKCarrie talked about feeling nervous about doing a sex scene with someone over 30.
“We had an intimate coordinator who was great,” Carey explained, and again, when I was 17, the first scene I read from the show was the sex scene and my intimacy scenes, which includes the scene where I bathe the King—anything It was considered an intimate sight, which I thought was wonderful.” They added, “But, it frightened me because at that point I didn’t meet Paddy, I didn’t know how much joy he was and how easy it was to make [the scene]And all I saw was, you know, a 47-year-old guy and I, I was a little worried.”
