Studio Trigger declined to review a particular piece of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Studio Trigger is responsible for some of the best anime series in the business, and at the moment, the company is pushing the boundaries with its new project. Last week, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners debuted, and fans are flocking to the show. Both fans and critics are obsessed with taking Studio Trigger on Cyberpunk 2077 IP. And in a recent interview, fans learned that anime executives refused to review a single piece of the anime.

Recently, a developer at CDPR talked about creating the show during a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners viewing party. It was there they admitted that Studio Trigger refused to modify Rebecca’s design after CPDR revealed their concerns about the character. It turns out the company wasn’t sure its cute image would fit into the Cyberpunk franchise, but Studio Trigger said “loli should stay”.

“She’s the best girl,” the developer admitted during the watch party. “But I feel a little guilty for saying that because I was one of the people on the creative team to actually vote for Rebecca outside the original cast during pre-production.”

“CD Projekt Red initially got a character design for Rebecca and they were like, ‘It’s Luli. There are no Lawless in Night City. It just doesn’t fit the Cyberpunk 2077 aesthetic.” But Trigger was like ‘No, loli should’ spend.’

Clearly, CPDR wasn’t too concerned about the backlash as Rebecca was included in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Choosing to retain the lead was a good move in the end as well as the fans’ reactions. The character has become a favorite with netizens, so Studio Trigger can rest easy knowing their loli tips worked.
