WWE Survivor Series A facelift is being performed this year. As announced by Paul “Triple H” Levesque on ringer Today, this year’s signature November live event will be home to two War Games matches. First introduced in the National Wrestling Alliance and later published in World Championship Wrestling, the famous double ring, double cage match lay dormant for nearly two decades before it was revived in NXT. The WWE development brand has held annual War Games events since 2017, most of which have featured former stars Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish of the Undisputed Era. 2019 saw the first-ever Women’s War Games match, which featured Rhea Ripley’s victory over a squad led by Shayna Baszler.
Survivor Series It will feature both men’s and women’s war games match, which Triple H revealed wouldn’t necessarily be in the typical brand war format that used to showcase the Big Four in November.
“We’re going to have a men’s war games match and a women’s war games match,” Triple H said. “The Survivor Series tradition has ebbed and flowed and changed a little bit over time, but this will be similar to that.” “This isn’t going to be Raw vs. SmackDown. It’s going to be more of a story line. I still look at it as a traditional component of the Survivor Series out there because it’s such a big teams of people competing. We’ve upped it a bit with War Games and made it evolve.”
