Jamila Jamil reveals the origins of her IRL stunts

this dimension, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law I’ve enjoyed the many metaphors that have made She-Hulk comics so great over the years, along with a modern twist unique to the Disney+ series. This was particularly the case for the series titled Mary McPherran / Titania (Beautiful Beautiful), which was introduced as a social media influencer with a major following – and the bone of his pick with Jennifer Walters / She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany). even before Strong woman Jamil debuted as Titania to make real-world trouble through a series of marketing stunts, including vandalizing show posters with spray paint, and smashing New York Fashion Week with the paparazzi. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com’s Phase Zero podcast, Jamila spoke about how those stunts came about thanks to her desire to “break the fourth wall,” like She-Hulk does on screen.

“Well, we broke the fourth wall, and that’s one of the most unique things about She-Hulk,” Jamil explained. “So I wanted to be able to do that. I’m a huge Marvel fan and I find it really fun to have the Marvel actors play with us. And once I got the role, I knew that was what I wanted to do in promoting this, really hands-on. So at Anytime I asked Marvel if we could do something, they said yes. They were so good, they would send my wigs and a team wherever I was, and we just kept doing these very silly stunts to keep the momentum going.”

“I think it’s really important that more shows are made to women around women, so you have to do everything you can to support and promote these shows,” Jamil continued. “And I just find it the most fun ways. One of my favorite things is that my acting style is after the role. Who can you say does that, eh? Jeremy Strong! Lady Gaga! What about that?”

As Jamil previously told ComicBook.com on the She-Hulk red carpet, Titania brings a unique energy to the MCU by virtue of being “too messy and despicable.”

Jamil explained at the time: “There are a lot of places Titania could be in the MCU, because it’s so messy and despicable.” “I resented most of the MCU. Spider-Man, Thor… She has enemies everywhere. Kind of looks like me in real life.”
