Marvel confirms arrival of Mephisto (as Marvel Legends character)

For a moment, let’s travel back in time and think about the early months of 2021. Back then, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe went months without any new shows to make in the franchise, all because of the ongoing pandemic. Then it came along WandaVision, the first TV series released by Marvel Studios and something that uses digital media to change the programming of events forever. Much of the speech included Mephisto’s arrival for supposed live action, which ended up becoming the biggest inside joke in the MCU. Now, after all these months, Mephisto is finally on his way…sort of…

On Monday, the team at Hasbro revealed a new Mephisto prototype it hopes to launch as part of an ongoing crowdfunding campaign. Earlier this month, the Marvel Legends team revealed the Engine of Vengeance HasLab, a massive project featuring the first Robbie Reyes Marvel Legends character and its accompanying Hell Charger. If all goes as planned, Mephisto is also included in the package.

If a HasLab campaign reaches 12,000 supporters by its deadline, the Mephisto character will be automatically unlocked for everyone who supports it. As of this writing, the initiative has just over 4,600 supporters, which means it’s a third of the way to its Mephisto goal. While Mephisto characters have been made available in other action figure lines, Hasbro’s highly collectible Marvel Legends line has yet to release a character sculpture.

“Soul bargaining, depraved heroes, and the ruler of Hades have finally made their way into the Marvel Legends line! An iconic villain in the Marvel comics universe, Mephisto is a key figure in the 50-year history of Ghost Rider,” the company writes about the new add-on. Responsible for transforming both Dan Ketch and Johnny Blaze into Ghost Rider, this soul-stealing character is a must-have exclusively for fans of the comics. Debuting in the 6-inch scale Marvel Legends line, this all-new Marvel’s Mephisto figure is It’s over 7″ high and features a brand new sculpt with pinless elbow and knee joints. A frequently requested character by Marvel Legends fans, we’re thrilled to finally be able to present Marvel’s comic-inspired Mephisto in all its sly glory.”

The Engine of Vengeance bundle is listed at $349.99 per support.
