Berserk Gets a Classic Makeover Thanks to This Viral Board

Rambunctious Will return to the small screen next month via Berserk: Commemorative Edition, which takes footage from the 2010 movie trilogy and re-edits it into a TV series, while also including previously unseen footage left on the editing room floor. Now, a fan artist has taken the opportunity to give both Black Swordsman and White Hawk a classic makeover, with the two former friends spending most of Berserk’s run as enemies looking for completely different things.

After the tragic death of creator Kentaro Miura, many Rambunctious Fans believed that the series, which first began in the 1980s, would never end and leave the story of Band of the Hawk unfinished. Fortunately, Miura’s friends at writer Koji Mori and the artists at Studio Gaga have taken it upon themselves to use Kintaro’s notes, along with information gleaned from meetings with the mangaka, to help craft an end to the story of Gates, Griffith, Casca, and the brutal supernatural world. With recent events in the manga that have seen Elfhelm’s supernatural stronghold disappear from the world, Guts and his friends have lost some valuable allies who might have helped them most in eliminating Griffith and his new iteration of Band of the Hawk.

Admired artist Justin 96636, best known for creating classic interpretations of favorite anime, has created another rift in the Berserk universe by putting Guts and Griffith side by side in the current iteration they are both in at the same time. Someone else’s throat:

Mori and Gaga haven’t revealed when they plan to finish the Berserk manga, although considering that characters like Skull Knight have stated in recent chapters that Guts and the company are currently in their “final game,” we imagine an end is in sight. While Berserk: Commemorative Edition Not a new anime series that retells the story of the manga, the franchise could be testing the waters for a new anime adaptation, as there are a lot of stories yet to come out on screen.
