In the episode, Beth/Doctor Mid-Nite (Anjelika Washington) discovers a skin cell in The Gambler’s trailer and it’s Charles MacNeider who helps identify it: it’s a skin cell similar to that of the Dragon King. It’s a frightening prospect, though Courtney suggests that even though Cindy killed Dragon King, given all the experiments he’s had on himself, he might be someone who can’t be killed. However, while Kourtney is concerned about the potential for the return of the Dragon King to affect Cindy, viewers discover something that is perhaps even more bleak. It was revealed that the physical issues Cindy was dealing with in particular was that her body was turning more and more into her father’s. We see her blinking reptile eyes and then we see reptile scales on her arm.
Dilassi said ComicBook.com For Cindy, physical transformation is devastating on a number of levels — especially since it affects her more than just the physical.
“Physically and then what you do internally as well,” Delassi said. “And if there’s messing around with wires crossing, chemically, all these things. And she can feel it. Something happened and the audience sees eye twitching before she does. So, I can only imagine what she feels like, just in her eyes, in her heart, in Her skin, her energy, it’s all.”
The revelation that Cindy has skin similar to her father’s also does not help in eliminating her as a suspect in the murder of The Gambler. Viewers already know Cindy has his laptop, and while it’s not certain that Cindy is the killer — there are still quite a few episodes left this season after all — DeLacy has provided some insight into what she thinks Cindy’s motivations will be. .
