“She’s a huge character,” Brosnan said sarcastically. “It’s never been portrayed in a movie before. It’s 40 years old in the making. Jaume, the director, allowed us to have those quiet moments.” He adds that Dr. Fate and Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) are “friends throughout many life incarnations.” He explained, “It’s about friendship. It’s about love and respect for another man in his situation, and you have the power.”
“Dr. Viet has the Naboo helmet, and it’s a curse and a blessing because he’s restricted by the power of the helmet. It’s addictive. It’s a curse. It all sounds like a lot when you talk about it that way,” he added with a laugh. “But it’s things you have to lend your heart to.”
In a recent interview with movie total (Across GamesRadar)Brosnan has spoken of being the “eldest” of the DC characters, describing Nelson’s relationship with the old Naboo helmet as “almost like a drug addiction.”
“I’m the biggest of the bunch,” Brosnan explained. “I’m sure he’s one of the oldest characters in the comic book cast. He’s an archaeologist.” He added: “He has the powers to foresee the future, raise the dead and teleport, and he wears a golden helmet… Definitely yes. [the helmet is essential]. It is a blessing and a curse. It’s almost like drug addiction in some ways. Wearing a helmet takes a lot of energy. It was a very beautifully designed costume and helmet, which I am absolutely in love with. Jaume Collet-Serra is very comprehensive in collaboration. He was great in the sense that he would send me designs for the helmet, so I could share in how they look.”
